Al Stewart is a Scottish singer-songwriter, born in Glasgow in 1945, whose folk rock and soft rock songs often draw on history, politics and literary storytelling. His best-known recordings include “Year of the Cat,” “Time Passages” and “On the Border,” while the albums Past, Present and Future and Modern Times established his detailed narrative style. In the 1960s, he played London folk clubs including Les Cousins, and in 1970 he performed at the Worthy Farm event that became Glastonbury Festival.
