About Andreas Vollenweider
Andreas Vollenweider is a Swiss composer and harpist, born in Zurich in 1953, whose instrumental music draws on new age, jazz, classical and world-music traditions. He is known for his electroacoustic harp and for albums including Caverna Magica, White Winds and Down to the Moon.
In 1982, he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and followed that appearance with European concert dates. His first American tour came in 1983, and he later presented his ensemble-based electroacoustic harp music at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in New York.
