Animal Collective is an American experimental pop group formed by childhood friends from the Baltimore area. Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin and Geologist create psychedelic folk, electronic music and noise-driven pop; their best-known records include Sung Tongs, Feels, Strawberry Jam and Merriweather Post Pavilion, which contains “My Girls” and “Summertime Clothes.” The 2009 concerts behind Merriweather Post Pavilion featured a three-member lineup. Animal Collective played Coachella and later headlined Pitchfork Music Festival in 2011. Sung Tongs was performed in full as a duo on a 2018 tour, returning to the format in which the album was recorded. In 2022, the Time Skiffs dates included Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
