About Animal Collective
Animal Collective is an American experimental pop group formed by childhood friends from the Baltimore area. Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin and Geologist create psychedelic folk, electronic music and noise-driven pop; their best-known records include Sung Tongs, Feels, Strawberry Jam and Merriweather Post Pavilion, which contains “My Girls” and “Summertime Clothes.”
The 2009 concerts behind Merriweather Post Pavilion featured a three-member lineup. Animal Collective played Coachella and later headlined Pitchfork Music Festival in 2011. Sung Tongs was performed in full as a duo on a 2018 tour, returning to the format in which the album was recorded. In 2022, the Time Skiffs dates included Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
