About Anna Netrebko
Anna Netrebko is an operatic soprano, born in Krasnodar in 1971, with Russian and Austrian citizenship. She is known for leading roles in Mozart, Verdi and Puccini, including Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, and the title roles in Aida and Tosca.
She made her professional operatic debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 1994 as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. In 2002 she sang Donna Anna at the Salzburg Festival and made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Natasha in War and Peace. In 2011 she opened La Scala’s season as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
