Apparat in Villeurbanne

Apparat is the solo project of German electronic musician Sascha Ring, active under the name since the late 1990s. His work moves between intricate electronica, ambient textures and vocal songwriting, documented on albums including Walls, The Devil’s Walk and LP5. He is also a member of Moderat, while the Apparat song “Goodbye,” featuring Soap&Skin, became the opening theme for the series Dark. Krieg und Frieden grew out of music Ring composed for Sebastian Hartmann’s production of Tolstoy’s War and Peace at Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen. The 2019 LP5 tour presented his electronic compositions in a full-band format and took that repertoire through concert halls and festivals. Apparat has brought the band setup to seated venues including Barbican Hall in London and Funkhaus Berlin. Festival performances have included Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
