Årabrot is a Norwegian noise-rock band formed in Haugesund in 2001 and centered on guitarist and vocalist Kjetil Nernes. Its music draws on sludge, industrial rock and post-punk; key releases include Solar Anus, The Gospel and Norwegian Gothic. Solar Anus received a Spellemann Award in the metal category. At Roadburn Festival in 2016, Årabrot performed The Gospel in full with an expanded ensemble. The band also brought its score for Fritz Lang’s silent film Die Nibelungen to the stage at the Tromsø International Film Festival.
