Artist
Author & Punisher is the American solo industrial-metal project created by musician and mechanical engineer Tristan Shone in San Diego in 2004. Its heavy electronics, doom-metal weight and mechanical noise are documented on albums including Ursus Americanus, Melk En Honing, Beastland and Krüller. Author & Punisher performed at Roadburn and later opened for Tool on North American arena dates in 2020. The performance is a solo set built around voice, electronics and self-designed physical controllers. The devices called Drone Machines and Dub Machines use levers and sliders that Tristan Shone operates by hand.
