Axelle Red in Paris

Axelle Red is a Belgian singer-songwriter from Hasselt who performs mainly in French, drawing on pop, chanson and soul. She became known through the album Sans plus attendre and songs including “Sensualité” and “Parce que c’est toi”; she also recorded the duet “Manhattan-Kaboul” with Renaud. At the Stade de France in 1998, she and Youssou N’Dour performed “La Cour des grands” during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup. The concert album Alive followed in 2000, and she has continued to bring her French-language repertoire to theatre stages, including the Olympia in Paris.
