Aztec Two-Step in Saratoga Springs

Aztec Two-Step is an American folk-rock act formed by singer-songwriters Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman after they met at a Boston coffeehouse in 1971. Close vocal harmonies and acoustic guitars shaped the duo’s sound on the self-titled debut album and songs including “The Persecution & Restoration of Dean Moriarty (On the Road).” Fowler and Shulman spent decades touring American coffeehouses, clubs and theatres, and their concert history includes appearances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York. After Shulman retired from touring in 2018, Fowler carried the repertoire forward as Aztec Two-Step 2.0, performing with singer-guitarist Dodie Pettit and a full band.
