About Bang On A Can All-Stars
Bang On A Can All-Stars is an American amplified sextet formed in New York in 1992 as the touring ensemble of Bang on a Can. It performs contemporary classical and experimental music shaped by minimalism, rock, jazz and electronics. Its recordings include Industry, Cheating, Lying, Stealing and Renegade Heaven.
Bang On A Can All-Stars have long been central performers at the Bang on a Can Marathon, presenting works by the organization’s founders and successive generations of commissioned composers. Since 2002, the ensemble has also performed and worked with participants at the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams.
The amplified lineup comprises clarinet, cello, electric guitar, piano and keyboards, percussion and bass. The ensemble has performed its arrangement of Brian Eno’s Music for Airports as a complete concert work.
