Ben Folds Five in Houston

Ben Folds Five is an American alternative rock trio formed in 1993 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Ben Folds sings and plays piano, Robert Sledge plays bass, and Darren Jessee plays drums, creating a guitar-free sound built around piano-led power pop. Their albums include Ben Folds Five, Whatever and Ever Amen, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner and The Sound of the Life of the Mind; “Brick,” from Whatever and Ever Amen, became their biggest hit. The trio reunited for a show in 2008 after splitting in 2000, then returned to recording in 2011. The Sound of the Life of the Mind was followed by a sold-out theatre tour, and later performances included shows with Cake and Violent Femmes.
