Better Than Ezra is an American alternative-rock band formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1988. The group became widely known through the album Deluxe and its single “Good”; “Desperately Wanting” and “King of New Orleans” are also central songs in its catalog. The group joined Everclear, Soul Asylum and Eve 6 on the 2014 Summerland tour. Its long-running benefit weekends in New Orleans have also paired Better Than Ezra concerts with fundraising for the Better Than Ezra Foundation, including the annual Ezra Open.
Vertical Horizon is an American alternative rock and pop-rock band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1991 by singer-guitarists Matt Scannell and Keith Kane. The album Everything You Want established the band on mainstream radio through its chart-topping title track, “You’re a God” and “Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning).” In 1997, Vertical Horizon released Live Stages, documenting its early road work after expanding from an acoustic duo into a full band. The group joined Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms and Fastball on the 2013 Under the Sun tour, then later performed in the Eat to the Beat concert series at EPCOT.
