Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Owen Pallett in Ottawa

Beverly Glenn-Copeland is a Canadian singer, composer and keyboardist born in Philadelphia in 1944. His work ranges across folk, jazz and electronic music, and he is best known for the 1986 cassette album Keyboard Fantasies and its song “Ever New,” which found a new audience decades after their release. His first European tour in 2018 featured Indigo Rising, the band assembled for his return to concert performance. That run included Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Indigo Rising performing at Le Guess Who? in Utrecht.

Owen Pallett is a Canadian composer, violinist and singer-songwriter, born in Mississauga in 1979. Their chamber pop is built around violin, voice and detailed orchestral writing; the album He Poos Clouds won the Polaris Music Prize, while Heartland and In Conflict are central works in their catalogue. They have also written arrangements for Arcade Fire and co-composed the score for Her. During the 2000s, Owen Pallett played solo concerts under the name Final Fantasy, recording violin phrases on loop pedals and adding vocals to construct each arrangement onstage. After retiring that name in 2009, they toured under their own name in support of Heartland and In Conflict. They have also performed on violin and keyboards in Arcade Fire’s touring ensemble, including concerts supporting The Suburbs with Win Butler and Régine Chassagne.
