Big Thief in Ojai

Big Thief is an American indie rock band formed in Brooklyn in 2015, led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Adrianne Lenker alongside guitarist Buck Meek and drummer James Krivchenia. The band became known through albums including Masterpiece, Capacity, U.F.O.F., Two Hands and Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, as well as songs such as “Not,” “Paul” and “Vampire Empire.” The band’s 2022 tour took its full-band performances through North American and European theatres and concert halls, including London’s Eventim Apollo. Big Thief also performed at Glastonbury that year, then headlined Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago in 2023.

Iris DeMent is an American country and folk singer-songwriter, born in Paragould, Arkansas, in 1961 and raised in California. Her 1992 debut album, Infamous Angel, introduced songs including “Let the Mystery Be” and “Our Town”; later records include My Life, The Way I Should and Sing the Delta. Iris DeMent performed on Austin City Limits during the 1990s and years later recorded a Tiny Desk concert for NPR Music. Her concerts have included solo performances at the piano and small-band sets in theatres and listening rooms. John Prine was a recurring recording and concert partner: they sang duets on his album In Spite of Ourselves and also appeared together onstage.
