Bikini Kill in Chicago

Bikini Kill is an American punk band formed in Olympia, Washington, in 1990. Closely associated with the riot grrrl movement, the group is known for direct feminist lyrics and songs including “Rebel Girl,” “Double Dare Ya” and “Feels Blind,” as well as the albums Pussy Whipped and Reject All American. A 1993 tour of the United Kingdom paired Bikini Kill with Huggy Bear for a series of concerts connected to riot grrrl’s early British scene. After disbanding in 1997, the group reunited for live performances in 2019, including multiple nights at the Hollywood Palladium and Brooklyn Steel. Bikini Kill performed at the International Pop Underground Convention in Olympia in 1991, during the event’s women-led opening night. Decades later, the band headlined Mosswood Meltdown in Oakland in 2022.

Ganser is an American post-punk band formed in Chicago in 2014. They play tense, rhythm-driven rock informed by noise rock and no wave, and are known for the albums Odd Talk and Just Look at That Sky, as well as songs including “Lucky” and “Emergency Equipment and Exits.” In 2021, Ganser performed at Pitchfork Music Festival in their home city. Later that year, they opened a run of North American dates for IDLES.
