Bill Laurance & Michael League in Weikersheim

Bill Laurance is a British pianist, keyboardist and composer, and a founding member of the jazz ensemble Snarky Puppy. His instrumental solo music draws on contemporary jazz, electronics and orchestral writing. He made his solo debut with Flint and followed it with albums including Swift, Aftersun and Cables. Bill Laurance toured internationally with Snarky Puppy before documenting his own London concert work on Live at Union Chapel. He later performed orchestral arrangements with The Untold Orchestra at the EFG London Jazz Festival and presented the album Where You Wish You Were in a piano-and-bass duo with Michael League.

Michael League is an American bassist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, best known as the founder and bandleader of the jazz-fusion ensemble Snarky Puppy. He formed the group in Denton, Texas, in 2004 and has directed recordings including We Like It Here, Culcha Vulcha and Empire Central. His work outside the band includes the solo album So Many Me, the group Bokanté and the GroundUP Music label. In 2013, League led Snarky Puppy through the filmed audience sessions at Kytopia in Utrecht that became We Like It Here. The ensemble later recorded Live at the Royal Albert Hall during a 2019 concert in London. His duo concerts with pianist Bill Laurance have presented Where You Wish You Were through acoustic bass, oud and piano.
