Billy Branch & The Sons of Blues is an American Chicago blues band led by singer and harmonica player Billy Branch. He formed the group in Chicago in 1977 after playing in Willie Dixon’s Chicago Blues All-Stars. Its recordings include Blues Shock and the Little Walter tribute Roots and Branches: The Songs of Little Walter. The group has performed repeatedly at the Chicago Blues Festival, presenting Branch’s harmonica-led electric blues in the city where it was formed. It has also taken that repertoire to Switzerland for the Montreux Jazz Festival.
