Black Slate are a British roots-reggae band formed in London in 1972. Their music carries a strong dub element, and they are best known for the UK chart hit “Amigo,” the earlier single “Sticks Man” and the album Sirens in the City. During the 1970s, Black Slate worked as a backing band for Jamaican singers touring Britain. They accompanied Delroy Wilson and Ken Boothe on British dates and also backed Dennis Brown.
