Artist
Horace Andy is a Jamaican reggae singer, born Horace Hinds in Kingston in 1951, whose high, tremulous voice became closely associated with roots reggae and dub. He first recorded for Studio One and is known for songs including “Skylarking,” “Government Land” and “Mr. Bassie,” as well as his vocals on Massive Attack recordings such as “Angel,” “Spying Glass” and “Man Next Door.” Horace Andy joined Massive Attack onstage repeatedly from the 1990s onward, performing the songs he recorded with the group on international tours. His solo concerts draw on his Studio One catalogue and later dub work, and his festival appearances have included Rototom Sunsplash in Spain and Reggae Geel in Belgium.
