Blood Red Shoes in Prague

Blood Red Shoes are a British alternative-rock duo formed in Brighton in 2004 by guitarist Laura-Mary Carter and drummer Steven Ansell, who both sing. Their garage-rock and post-punk sound is established on albums including Box of Secrets, Fire Like This and In Time to Voices, and on songs such as “I Wish I Was Someone Better,” “It’s Getting Boring by the Sea” and “Light It Up.” Touring behind Box of Secrets in 2008 took the duo through clubs across Britain and continental Europe, and they later supported Biffy Clyro on a UK tour. Headline runs for Fire Like This and In Time to Voices retained the core guitar-and-drums setup, while their festival appearances have included Reading and Leeds Festivals and SXSW in Austin.
