The Blues Brothers in Dresden

The Blues Brothers is an American rhythm-and-blues and soul act created by comedians and musicians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. They introduced the characters Elwood and Jake Blues on Saturday Night Live in 1978, then recorded the live album Briefcase Full of Blues and starred in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. Their best-known recordings include “Soul Man,” “Rubber Biscuit” and “Gimme Some Lovin’.” In 1978, The Blues Brothers opened for Steve Martin at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, and recordings from that engagement formed Briefcase Full of Blues. Later that year, the band performed on New Year’s Eve at Winterland in San Francisco, opening for the Grateful Dead.
