Boney James is an American saxophonist born in Lowell, Massachusetts, in 1961. He plays contemporary jazz rooted in R&B and soul. Albums including Seduction, Sweet Thing and Body Language, as well as tracks such as “After the Rain” and “Sweet Thing,” established his solo catalogue. Before beginning his solo recording career, Boney James toured as a member of Morris Day’s band; his debut album Trust followed in 1992. He later played the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles as a solo artist and has also performed at the Oakland jazz club Yoshi’s.
