The Brand New Heavies are a British acid-jazz, funk and soul band formed in Ealing, West London, by Andrew Levy, Simon Bartholomew and Jan Kincaid. Their best-known recordings include “Never Stop,” “Dream Come True,” “Dream on Dreamer,” “Midnight at the Oasis” and “Sometimes,” while the albums Brother Sister and Shelter established their vocal-led jazz-funk sound. The band developed on the London club circuit around the Acid Jazz scene before touring internationally in the 1990s. Their concerts use a full-band format, and N’Dea Davenport has fronted the group during separate periods of its live history. Festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
