Brijean is an American duo formed in Oakland by percussionist and singer Brijean Murphy and producer and multi-instrumentalist Doug Stuart. They play dance-oriented indie pop shaped by house, jazz and electronic music, and are known for the albums Feelings and Macro and the song “Day Dreaming.” In 2021, Brijean recorded an NPR Tiny Desk (home) concert, centered on Murphy’s percussion and vocals and Stuart’s bass and electronics. Later that year, the group brought its live set to Chicago for Pitchfork Music Festival.
