About Chancha Via Circuito
Chancha Via Circuito is the recording name of Buenos Aires producer Pedro Canale, who makes electronic music rooted in cumbia and South American folk traditions. He emerged from the ZZK Records circle and is known for albums including Río Arriba, Amansara and Bienaventuranza. His reworking of José Larralde’s “Quimey Neuquén” was featured in Breaking Bad.
In 2015, Chancha Via Circuito performed a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR in Washington, D.C. The set paired Canale’s electronics with vocals and acoustic percussion, documenting the ensemble format he has used alongside DJ performances. He has also performed at MUTEK Montréal and Denmark’s Roskilde Festival.
