Charlie Wilson in Oxon Hill-Glassmanor

Charlie Wilson is an American R&B and soul singer born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1953. He first became known as the lead singer of the Gap Band, whose repertoire includes “Outstanding,” “You Dropped a Bomb on Me” and “Burn Rubber on Me.” His solo catalogue includes the albums Charlie, Last Name Wilson and Uncle Charlie, as well as the songs “There Goes My Baby” and “You Are.” The 2015 Forever Charlie Tour paired him with Kem and Joe for an arena run. He later toured with New Edition and Jodeci on The Culture Tour in 2022, then appeared as New Edition’s special guest on the Past Present Future Tour in 2024.
