About Cidade Negra
Cidade Negra is a Brazilian reggae band formed in Belford Roxo, Rio de Janeiro, in 1986. Reggae, rock and pop shape albums including Sobre Todas as Forças and O Erê, while “Onde Você Mora?”, “A Estrada” and “Firmamento” are among the group’s best-known songs.
In 2002, Cidade Negra recorded Acústico MTV, presenting its catalogue as a full-band acoustic concert for an album and video. Further festival work took the group outside Brazil, including a performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
