Collective Soul in Pickering

Collective Soul is an American rock band formed in Stockbridge, Georgia, in 1992 by singer-songwriter Ed Roland. Playing alternative and hard rock, the band became known through “Shine” from the debut album Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid. The self-titled follow-up included “December,” “Gel” and “The World I Know.” Collective Soul performed at Woodstock ’94, then opened for Van Halen on the Balance Tour in 1995. In 2019, the band and Gin Blossoms returned to the road as co-headliners of the Now’s the Time Tour.

Jonathan Roy is a Canadian singer-songwriter born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, in 1989. He writes pop-rock built around acoustic guitar and a direct vocal style, and is known for songs including “Keeping Me Alive,” “Daniella Denmark” and “Lost,” as well as the albums Mr. Optimist Blues and Life Distortions. Roy joined Corey Hart’s 2019 Never Surrender Tour before taking his own material to headline rooms in Canada and Europe. His later concerts centered on songs from Life Distortions, giving that record its own named tour.
