Conjunto Primavera & Los Cadetes De Linares in Corona

Conjunto Primavera is a Mexican norteño-sax band formed in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, in 1978. The group is known for romantic regional Mexican songs shaped by saxophone and accordion, including “Necesito Decirte,” “Morir de Amor” and “Ave Cautiva,” with Tony Meléndez on lead vocals. Conjunto Primavera has toured Mexico and the United States for decades, playing dance halls, palenques, theatres and arenas. Its concert history includes Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional and an appearance at RodeoHouston.

Los Cadetes De Linares is a Mexican norteño group founded in Linares, Nuevo León, by singer and bajo sexto player Homero Guerrero. The best-known partnership paired Guerrero with accordionist and singer Lupe Tijerina, recording corridos, rancheras and boleros including “Los Dos Amigos,” “El Palomito,” “Pistoleros Famosos” and “No Hay Novedad.” During the 1970s and early 1980s, Guerrero and Tijerina brought that repertoire to dances and concert halls in Mexico and the United States. After Guerrero’s death in 1982, Tijerina kept the music onstage through later lineups of the group; he performed until 2016, when he died after an appearance in Ciudad Fernández, San Luis Potosí.
