Artist
Cory Henry is an American keyboardist, organist, singer and producer, born in Brooklyn in 1987. A former member of the jazz-funk collective Snarky Puppy, he is known for his Hammond organ playing and his extended keyboard solo on “Lingus.” His solo catalogue includes the albums First Steps and Something to Say, while his own group performs as Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles. Snarky Puppy’s filmed We Like It Here sessions at Kytopia in Utrecht captured Henry at the keyboards during his years of touring with the group. In 2018, a Tiny Desk concert documented him leading his own band through “Trade It All,” “Love Will Find a Way” and “Send Me a Sign.” His concerts have included solo Hammond organ performances, represented by The Revival, as well as full-band sets built around keyboards, vocals and improvisation. The ensemble format places Cory Henry at the center of arrangements played by The Funk Apostles.
