Artist
Darrell Scott is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in London, Kentucky, in 1959. Working across country, folk and bluegrass, he wrote “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive” and “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive,” later recorded by Patty Loveless and Travis Tritt respectively, and co-wrote the Dixie Chicks song “Long Time Gone.” His own albums include Aloha from Nashville and Theatre of the Unheard. Darrell Scott and Tim O’Brien have toured as an acoustic duo, extending the collaboration heard on Real Time into concerts centered on vocal harmonies, guitar and mandolin. In 2010, he joined Robert Plant’s Band of Joy as a multi-instrumentalist and toured behind the group’s self-titled album.
