Dave Attell is an American stand-up comedian and actor, born in Queens, New York, in 1965. He became widely known as the host of Comedy Central’s late-night travel series Insomniac with Dave Attell; his recorded work includes the comedy album Skanks for the Memories and the specials Road Work and Hot Cross Buns. His stand-up is built around rapid one-liners, dark observations and improvised exchanges with the room.

The 2007 special Captain Miserable was filmed at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. He later recorded sets in comedy clubs for Road Work, released in 2014, and his live double act with Jeff Ross became the 2018 Netflix series Bumping Mics, taped at the Comedy Cellar’s Village Underground.
