About David Gray

David Gray is a British singer-songwriter, born in Sale in 1968 and raised in Wales. He is best known for the album White Ladder and its songs “Babylon,” “This Year’s Love,” “Please Forgive Me” and “Sail Away,” which joined acoustic folk-rock songwriting to understated electronic production.

In 2001, he performed at U2’s concerts at Slane Castle during the touring cycle that followed the album. He returned to the record in 2022 for an anniversary tour, playing it in full at theatres and arenas in Britain, Ireland and North America.
