David Rodigan in Zurich

David Rodigan is a British reggae and dancehall DJ, radio broadcaster and sound-system selector, born in 1951. He began presenting reggae on Capital Radio in 1979 and later hosted programmes on Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1Xtra, building his reputation through deep selections of roots reggae, dub and dancehall. In 1985, David Rodigan faced Jamaican broadcaster Barry G in a sound clash in New York, an encounter preserved on widely circulated recordings. He returned to the competitive format and won World Clash Reset in 2012. Two years later, he joined Chase & Status, Shy FX and MC Rage in the Rebel Sound crew, which won Red Bull Culture Clash at Earls Court.
