About Days Of The New
Days Of The New is an American rock band formed in Charlestown, Indiana, in 1995 and led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Travis Meeks. Its acoustic-based alternative rock became known through the 1997 self-titled debut album and the songs “Touch, Peel and Stand,” “The Down Town” and “Shelf in the Room.” The band followed it with two more self-titled albums, commonly distinguished by their green and red covers.
In 1998, Days Of The New opened for Metallica on a North American tour that also featured Jerry Cantrell. After the original lineup separated, Meeks continued to perform under the band’s name with different musicians; the founding members reunited for shows in 2014, bringing him back onstage with Todd Whitener, Matt Taul and Jesse Vest.
