Dengue Fever is an American band formed in Los Angeles in 2001. The group plays Cambodian rock and pop shaped by psychedelic rock and surf music, led by Cambodian-born singer Chhom Nimol in Khmer and English. Its best-known recordings include the albums Escape from Dragon House and Venus on Earth, as well as songs such as “Tiger Phone Card” and “Sni Bong.” In 2005, Dengue Fever toured Cambodia, a trip documented in the film Sleepwalking Through the Mekong. The group later performed at Glastonbury Festival in England and Denmark’s Roskilde Festival.
