Artists
Disillusion are a German progressive metal band formed in Leipzig in 1994 and led by vocalist and guitarist Andy Schmidt. Their music moves between progressive death metal, melodic passages and clean vocals; the albums Back to Times of Splendor, Gloria, The Liberation and Ayam are central works in their catalogue. Disillusion played Wacken Open Air in 2005 during the touring cycle for their debut album. In 2024, they revisited that record on an anniversary tour and performed it in full under the Back to Times of Splendor 20th Anniversary banner.
The Hirsch Effekt are a German trio formed in Hanover in 2008. Their music combines mathcore, progressive metal and post-hardcore, and their catalog includes the Holon album trilogy, followed by records such as Eskapist, Kollaps and Urian. The Hirsch Effekt have performed at Euroblast in Cologne and at ArcTanGent near Bristol, two festivals closely associated with progressive and technically complex heavy music.
