About Disillusion
Disillusion are a German progressive metal band formed in Leipzig in 1994 and led by vocalist and guitarist Andy Schmidt. Their music moves between progressive death metal, melodic passages and clean vocals; the albums Back to Times of Splendor, Gloria, The Liberation and Ayam are central works in their catalogue.
Disillusion played Wacken Open Air in 2005 during the touring cycle for their debut album. In 2024, they revisited that record on an anniversary tour and performed it in full under the Back to Times of Splendor 20th Anniversary banner.
