About Dr. Motte
Dr. Motte is the stage name of German DJ, producer and electronic-music activist Matthias Roeingh, born in 1960. He plays techno and house and is best known for founding the Love Parade. His recordings include the parade anthems “Sunshine” and “One World One Future,” both made with WestBam.
In 1989, he initiated the first Love Parade on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin and later appeared at the event as a DJ and public spokesman. He withdrew from the organization in 2006. In 2022, a nonprofit initiative he founded mounted a new techno parade, where he played a DJ set under the banner Rave The Planet.
