Draconian in Esch-sur-Alzette

Draconian are a Swedish gothic death-doom band formed in Säffle in 1994. Their music pairs slow, heavy guitar work and death growls with clean female vocals, a sound established on albums including Where Lovers Mourn, Arcane Rain Fell and Turning Season Within. “The Cry of Silence,” “Heaven Laid in Tears” and “Death, Come Near Me” are among their best-known songs. An early festival appearance brought Draconian to Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium. The band subsequently performed aboard 70000 Tons of Metal and later took its long-form doom material to Hellfest in Clisson. The concerts are full-band performances centred on the vocal exchange between deep growls and clean melodic lines. Since Lisa Johansson returned in 2022, she has again sung the clean-vocal parts opposite Anders Jacobsson.
