Dritte Wahl are a German punk rock band formed in Rostock in 1988. Their direct, politically minded songs place them firmly in the Deutschpunk tradition; key records include Fasching in Bonn, Nimm drei, Meer aus Farben and 3D, while “Auge um Auge” and “Fliegen” are among their best-known songs. Dritte Wahl’s long-running Christmas concerts in their hometown established an annual live tradition, and the band marked its 30th anniversary at Stadthalle Rostock in 2018. Its touring history also includes club shows across German-speaking Europe and appearances at Ruhrpott Rodeo and Wacken Open Air.
Massendefekt are a German punk-rock band formed in Meerbusch in 2001. Their melodic, German-language sound is represented by albums including Tangodiesel, Echos and Pazifik, and songs such as “Der Hoffnung entgegen” and “Endlosschleifen.” The Echos Tour and the later Pazifik Tour took the band through German clubs and concert halls. Massendefekt have also performed at major rock festivals, including Rock am Ring and Open Flair.
