Duke Special & Ed Harcourt in London

Duke Special is the stage name of Peter Wilson, a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and pianist born in Lisburn in 1971. His music draws on alternative pop, cabaret and orchestral songwriting. He is known for the album Songs from the Deep Forest and songs including “Freewheel,” “Last Night I Nearly Died” and “Our Love Goes Deeper Than This.” Duke Special filmed and recorded Live at the Empire at Belfast’s Empire Music Hall during the touring that followed Songs from the Deep Forest. He later established recurring Christmas concerts and has performed his catalogue in solo piano and full-band formats. His festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival and Electric Picnic. His concert work is centred on the United Kingdom and Ireland, where he continues to play theatre and club dates in London and Dublin.

Ed Harcourt is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in London in 1977. His piano-led alternative rock first drew wide attention through the album Here Be Monsters, followed by records including From Every Sphere and Strangers; “Apple of My Eye” and “This One’s for You” are among his best-known songs. In 2005, Harcourt supported R.E.M. during their European tour. His own concerts have featured both solo piano performances and full-band arrangements, and his festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival.
