Martha Wainwright is a Canadian singer-songwriter born in Montreal in 1976. A member of the Wainwright-McGarrigle musical family, she established her solo catalogue with “Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole” and her self-titled debut album, followed by records including I Know You’re Married but I’ve Got Feelings Too, Come Home to Mama and Goodnight City. Before releasing her debut album, Martha Wainwright toured as a backing vocalist with her brother Rufus Wainwright. In 2005 she took part in Hal Willner’s Leonard Cohen tribute Came So Far for Beauty at the Sydney Opera House, then led club and theatre tours behind her own albums. In 2015, she performed with Lucy Wainwright Roche as the Wainwright Sisters following their album Songs in the Dark.
