Eddie Vedder is an American singer-songwriter born in Evanston, Illinois, in 1964, best known as the lead singer and principal lyricist of Pearl Jam. His solo catalog includes the soundtrack to Into the Wild, Ukulele Songs and Earthling; songs closely associated with that work include “Guaranteed,” “Society” and his version of “Hard Sun.” In 2008, Eddie Vedder mounted a solo theatre tour following Into the Wild, drawing on the film’s soundtrack and Pearl Jam material. He returned to the road behind Ukulele Songs in 2011, when Glen Hansard opened selected dates and joined him during the concerts. In 2022, he took the Earthling album on the road with a full backing band for the Earthlings Tour.
