About El Canijo de Jerez
El Canijo de Jerez is the stage name of Spanish singer, songwriter and guitarist Marcos del Ojo Barroso, born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1982. He first became known as a co-founder and vocalist of Los Delinqüentes, then began a solo career built around Andalusian rumba, flamenco-pop and rock. His solo catalogue includes the albums El nuevo despertar de la farándula cósmica and La lengua chivata.
In 2016, he and Juanito Makandé recorded and toured together as Estricnina. El Canijo de Jerez also performs his solo material with a full band and has taken that format to Viña Rock in Villarrobledo.
