El Kanka is the stage name of Spanish singer-songwriter Juan Gómez Canca, who was born in Málaga in 1982. He writes canción de autor shaped by acoustic pop, rumba and Latin rhythms, and is known for songs including “Canela en rama” and “Qué bello es vivir.” His catalogue includes the albums Lo mal que estoy y lo poco que me quejo, El arte de saltar and Cosas de los vivientes. In 2023, El Kanka returned to the stage after a break from performing and toured behind Cosas de los vivientes. His concert work has centered on theatres and festivals in Spain, while repeated Latin American visits have included shows in Mexico and Chile.
