Eläkeläiset in Erlangen

Eläkeläiset are a Finnish band formed in Joensuu in 1993. They recast familiar rock and pop songs as fast, accordion-driven humppa, adding comic Finnish lyrics and new titles; albums including Humppakäräjät and Humppamaratooni established that approach across a full catalogue. Since the 1990s, Eläkeläiset have toured clubs and festivals across continental Europe, particularly in Germany. Their concerts use a full band centered on accordion and keyboards, a format they have also brought to the heavy-metal festival Wacken Open Air.
