Artist
Eluveitie is a Swiss folk-metal band formed by Chrigel Glanzmann in 2002. The group plays melodic death metal built around hurdy-gurdy, violin, whistles and bagpipes, and is known for albums including Slania, Helvetios and Origins, as well as songs such as “Inis Mona,” “A Rose for Epona” and “The Call of the Mountains.” Eluveitie toured Europe on Paganfest in 2008 with Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow and Týr. In 2019, the band undertook a European co-headlining tour with Lacuna Coil, supported by Infected Rain. The concert lineup is a full metal band augmented by traditional folk instruments, while harsh vocals alternate with clean singing. Chrigel Glanzmann leads the group and plays instruments including whistles, mandola and bagpipes. Their festival history includes performances at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Hellfest in France.
