About En Vogue
En Vogue is an American R&B vocal group formed in Oakland in 1989 by producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy. The original quartet of Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones became known for tightly arranged harmonies on “Hold On,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Free Your Mind” and “Don’t Let Go (Love).” Their early albums include Born to Sing and Funky Divas.
In 1990, En Vogue opened for MC Hammer on the Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ’Em World Tour. In 2022, the group returned to arenas on The Mixtape Tour, performing on a lineup led by New Kids on the Block that also included Salt-N-Pepa and Rick Astley.
